Bucks County Business Spotlight: Marsha Brown Restaurant

From the outside, Marsha Brown Creole Kitchen and Lounge looks anything but ordinary. Regal and striking, the restaurant is inside of a beautiful, historic stone church, with gorgeous stained glass and complete with two sculptures affixed to the building's entrance: an oversized fork and spoon.

I was immediately greeted with the southern hospitality that is so famous below the Dixon-Mason line. Diners are offered both valet and coat check services. Once seated, I noticed that the restaurant was surprisingly quiet, despite the fact that the dining area was quite full of people enjoying their food and drinks.

The ambiance at Marsha Brown is special, with elegant surroundings and positive energy. The wine list is extensive and the menu is enticing, featuring a raw bar for fresh seafood. The oysters are exceptional. For a main course, I highly recommend the jambalaya, eggplant Ophelia, or one of the steaks, cooked to perfection.

All of the dishes are prepared masterfully, using recipes inspired by Marsha Brown’s Louisiana-based family. Close your eyes and listen to the smooth jazz playing in the background. Taste the authentic flavors and spices- you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to a Basin St, New Orleans restaurant.
