This historic totally restored farmhouse enjoys a very interesting bit of history. The farmhouse was built in 1801 and during the 1800's it was operated as an Inn. The original food pantry for the Inn still exists in the basement of the farmhouse. One of the original owners was Mr. Curley. Curley Mill Rd. which abuts the rear entrance to the property was named after Mr. Curley. The original stone front farmhouse has a large portico entry leading to a stunning solid wood red door. In the center of the red door a plaque proudly states: ~Curley Mill Manor.~ A slate stone pathway leads to the front Portico entrance endowed with a bluestone landing. The over sized lamps that flank the main entry door are custom made period style lamps. Inside the home you will find gorgeous original pine floors and deep window sills which now house high-end, triple pane windows consisting of 6 over 6 and 9 over 6 panes which mimic the original farmhouse windows. The pine floor entry poses a turned staircase which immediately creates a warmth and charm that only a pristine farmhouse can deliver. Thoughout the farmhouse you will notice that several of the doors exhibit the original hardware. The formal living room is bordered on both sides with large windows and a decorative fire place. Two identical doors lead into the glorious sun room built in 1939 and has a wall of windows on all three sides and its own outside entry door. The ~oh so comfortable~ kitchen unveils custom built cabinets, a five burner gas stove with two ovens, granite counters, farm style kitchen sink, wide pine floors, side entry door, large beams and all the warmth you could ask for in a farmhouse kitchen. There is large family room with a working gas FP and wide plank pine floors, a separate back door and an entry opening to the enclosed porch. The dining room is large and immediately adjacent to the kitchen offering plenty of space for victuals. Located upstairs is the restful master bedroom with luxe carpeting, a number of closets and a ensuite bath. Two of the additional bedrooms have ensuite baths and the fourth bedroom has access to the hall bath. The outside living area was created to give a "park like" ambiance. In the courtyard is a blue stone slate patio encompassed with a rock garden, lavish shrubbery, flower gardens, and various potted plants and trees. The grounds are magnificent with beautifully maintained shrubs, flower beds, trees and a wide open space for just getting lost. A gazebo is provided as a comfortable reading or resting place. Two thirds of the property is surrounded by a white split rail fence. The main entrance to the property is a macadam circular drive off of Limekiln Pike with a second entry/exit consisting of a red stone drive onto Curley Mill Road. During the years that the present owners have lived here the property has evolved into the picturesque home it is today.
