Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity
Russell Volk, REALTOR®, and Elite Realty Group are committed to providing equal professional real estate services and supporting fair housing and equal opportunity for everyone.
We believe every person should have the opportunity to buy, sell, rent, finance, and enjoy housing without unlawful discrimination. Our real estate services are provided in accordance with applicable federal, Pennsylvania, and local fair housing laws.
Federal Fair Housing Protections
The federal Fair Housing Act prohibits housing discrimination based on:
- Race
- Color
- National origin
- Religion
- Sex
- Familial status
- Disability
These protections apply to many housing-related activities, including buying or renting a home, obtaining a mortgage, seeking housing assistance, and other real estate transactions.
Fair Housing Protections in Pennsylvania
The Pennsylvania Human Relations Act provides protections against housing discrimination based on characteristics that include:
- Race
- Color
- Sex
- Age, for individuals age 40 and older
- Religious creed
- National origin
- Ancestry
- Familial status
- Disability
- The use, handling, or training of a guide or support animal for a disability
The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission states that protections based on sex include gender identity and sexual orientation. Additional protections may also apply under local laws.
Our Commitment
Our goal is to provide every client and prospective client with the same level of professional service, access to housing information, and opportunity to consider properties that meet their individual real estate needs.
Property searches, community information, showing opportunities, and other real estate services are provided without discrimination based on any characteristic protected by applicable law.
Consumers are encouraged to make their own decisions about the homes, communities, and locations that best meet their needs. When requested, we can provide objective real estate information and direct consumers to appropriate third-party resources for information outside the scope of real estate brokerage services.
Housing Discrimination Resources
Anyone who believes they have experienced unlawful housing discrimination may contact the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity or the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission for information about fair housing rights and the complaint process.
These government agencies provide information about applicable fair housing laws, protected classes, and procedures for reporting possible housing discrimination.
